The House System: Belonging From Day One
Every student and staff member at PPA belongs to a house. These age-integrated groups are at the heart of our school culture, bringing together students from different grade levels to build relationships, develop leadership, and cultivate a deep sense of team.
The house system isn't just a fun tradition — it's how PPA ensures every student has a community within the school community.
Internships & Real-World Work Experience
Students gain hands-on career experience through internships and job shadowing opportunities connected to their pathway interests. These experiences give students a chance to apply what they've learned, explore their professional options, and build the kind of real-world confidence that can't be taught in a classroom.
Counseling Built For Every Student
Our counseling program maintains an intentional student-to-counselor ratio of 1:100 — far below the state average — so every student receives the personalized attention they deserve.
PPA counselors support students academically, socially, and emotionally, helping them navigate high school while planning for what comes next. Whether it's course selection, college planning, or a difficult day, students always have someone in their corner.

Clubs, Leadership & Honor Societies
Outside of class, students can get involved in a range of clubs, honor societies, and leadership opportunities. From the National Honor Society (NHS) and California Scholarship Federation (CSF) to student government and cultural organizations, there is a place for every student to find their community and grow as a leader.
Travel & Experiential Learning
At PPA, we believe in the power of getting out of the classroom — and out of the county. Our travel program takes students on college visits and immersive experiences across the West Coast, East Coast, and internationally, broadening their perspective and deepening their sense of what's possible for their own futures.
These aren't just field trips. They're formative experiences that connect students to a world of opportunity beyond their local community.
Athletics Through Upland High School
Through our partnership with Upland High School, PPA students have the opportunity to participate in CIF-SS athletics — competing, building camaraderie, and developing the discipline and teamwork that come from being part of a team.
